OUR CRAFTSMANSHIP

Nepal has long been home to traditional craftsmanship. Cashmere, merino wool, and silk production have been the heart of our production. All of our products go through more than 40 different processes from fiber to fabric. It’s not just a product but an art developed from decades of experience and love for quality.

Aiming to show the world the true meaning of craftsmanship, we aim to create products true to their soul, using traditional techniques inherited from generations of innovation woven together with a modern approach.

FINEST YARNS

Working only with spinners best in their class, all our yarns are OEKO-Tex certified and have proven best in their quality. Only the longest fiber length are chosen to make products at our unit. Cashmere of staple length 36-40mm only suits to be made to the final product.

DYEING PROCESS

We choose the best suited dyeing method for the yarns, there are four methods all equally effective for our yarns or woven fabrics. With Years of experience, our technicians have perfected the skill to make the color recipes for collection unimagined with more a 4500 shades. A perfect color recipe with shades for all seasons.

All the dyes we use are eco-friendly dyes, free of any Azo’s.  A family-run ethic and principles are the soul of the production, hence a major focus is given to Sustainability and environmental factors.

WINDING PROCESS

Dyed yarns need a proper arrangement from being a hank to fabric. Every meter of yarn passes through hands of our winders to be formed into a cone. Those cones are then forwarded to our machining department to further processes.

PRE-WEAVING PROCESS

This process begins by feeding warp yarns. Warping defines the density of the yarn present in the warp direction of the fabric. The total warp length and no of yarns in the warp vary as per the length, width, and thickness of the required fabric. A proper warp factor needs to be decided so as to maintain the cover factor that determines the lifetime of the fabric.

Warp is then wound over the warper’s beam and transferred to the drafting process. It is here when each and every strand of yarns are transferred to heald by hand, drafters pick every warp yarn and use a hook to pull it through the healds. The sequence of yarn in the heald determines the design that is to be made.

WEAVING PROCESS

Weaving has always been the Core of our craftsmanship, the art of weaving was inherited from one generation to another in the family.Weft yarn runs horizontally in this process across the fabric that interlocks with the warp yarn and hence making a raw fabric.

We have two different techniques of weaving, i.e. Dobby and Jacquard. Dobby Looms are responsible to make elegant checks, stripes, and our signature felted and diamond stoles, whereas Jacquard loom makes much more intricate and complicated patterns. Dobby and Jacquard’s mechanism is set in traditional Power looms hence the result is an elegant border that is difficult to obtain in modern rapier looms.

KNITTING PROCESS

A fully fashioned means each and every piece of knitted dress goes through the hands of knitters to give the best fit possible. Each and every piece is made to fit. From ribs, cuffs, collars to the front and back of the garment, every stitch forms the garment.

PRINTING PROCESS

Traditionally prints have always been charm of the fabric. Our product also goes through hands of the printers to print elegant design and pattern that adds a layer of attraction to the fabric.

We have two types of printing method, traditional screen print and modern digital print. Screen prints use single colour screens, overlaid in a fabric one after another to form the design. Digital printing uses sophisticated computer technology to print the fabric as a printer prints over paper.

WASHING AND FINISHING PROCESS

Raw woven clothes are rough and needs proper washing and finishing forming a final product. All the processes involved during making of fibre to fabric have advanced as change in time but this process has remained unchanged for decades.

Boiling and scouring helps to remove and oil present in the fabric and also helps to make the fabric more and more guff. Depending on the end use further process like felting and calendaring may be done. Every products from scarfs, stoles, blankets, to sweaters, cardigan is made to same elegance and lasts generations.
